SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM 2025

ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP

University of Maryland Eastern Shore Southern Maryland Alumni Chapter, Inc. will provide scholarships to high school seniors residing in Southern Maryland that have a focus on not only obtaining their postsecondary education at University of Maryland Eastern Shore but becoming leaders on campus as well. The application will open on Thursday, January 2, 2025 and will close on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at 11:59PM EST. Selections will be made by Tuesday, April 15, 2024.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

In addition to responding to a 2-minute video essay explaining how you would contribute to HBCU culture at University of Maryland Eastern Shore and how University of Maryland Eastern Shore can help you in your future endeavors, please see the following eligibility requirements.

Must be attending UMES as a freshman for the Fall 2025-2026 academic year

Must have a 2.5 unweighted G.P.A.

Must commit to UMES by May 1, 2025

Must be a resident of Southern Prince George's County, Maryland, Charles County, Maryland, Calvert County, Maryland or St. Mary's County, Maryland
