ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The application will be open from Friday, January 2, 2026 at 12:00AM EST through Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at 11:59PM EST. Scholars will be able to choose one of three scholarships from which to apply. Each scholarship has a specific core value that must be met. Full details are available via the application link below. Must submit a 2-minute video essay explaining how you would contribute to HBCU culture at UMES through leadership and how UMES can best assist you in your future endeavors.

Must be attending UMES as a freshman for the Fall 2025-2026 academic year.

Must have a 2.5 unweighted G.P.A.

Must commit to UMES by May 1, 2026.

Must be a resident of Southern Prince George's County, Maryland, Charles County, Maryland, Calvert County, Maryland, or St. Mary's County, Maryland.
